Staying up to date

Are You Up To Date?

While your primary care physician should recommend appropriate health screenings for you, some fail to stay on top of your records. Always take the initiative and ask your doctor if you or your loved ones are due for any health screenings. Prevention and early detection is a key to staying healthy, and being proactive about screenings is critical. Late diagnosis and diagnostic failures can be medical negligence! Please read more here and here.

April is National Minority Health Month

Bridging Health Equity Across Communities
People from under-served population groups are still not receiving equal health care treatment, or may not feel they are in a position to question medical authorities. Many of our clients come from under-served populations. National Minority Health Month is an initiative first begun in 1915 by Booker T. Washington. It now advances health equity on behalf of all racial and ethnic minorities nationwide. We each need to be proactive patients and have access to appropriate and correct heath care to avoid medical errors.

When Fetal Distress is Medical Negligence

Fetal Distress and medical negligence
Fetal distress is a broad term that means the baby isn’t getting enough oxygen. It usually develops during labor, but may arise in the third trimester. If a doctor or hospital fails to timely diagnose and treat fetal distress, a baby is at higher risk for brain injuries, and damage that can cause cerebral palsy or mental retardation. Please see details here, and call us if you or your clients have questions.
