Women’s Heart HealthIt’s a common misconception that cancer is the most common cause of death in the U.S. It is actually heart disease. Both women and men are at risk of heart disease, but women have unique heart health issues. Please do take a few minutes to also learn about your unique heart disease risks. Some risk factors that men and women share include abnormal cholesterol levels, obesity, and high blood pressure. Other risk factors affect women more than men such as having diabetics smoking, mental stress, and depression. Also, women are uniquely affected by the hormonal changes. Men are more likely than women to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack and to call 911 right away and women aren’t as likely to seek emergency medical care. Please read more here.

What is Cerebral Palsy and What Causes It?
When a parent learns that their child has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, it can be overwhelming. Cerebral palsy is a group of movement disorders that are incurable. It is often caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain during labor or childbirth. What many people don’t know is that avoidable medical errors resulting in birth injuries, can cause cerebral palsy.
